FEBRUARY

February 2 - February 27, 2007
Bronwyn McGuire Morris
Handwoven Highway
This exhibition invites all to learn the stories the threads yearn to tell, and to feel the embrace of the fabrics. There is much to be learned and reminded of by these centuries’ old techniques.

MARCH

March 2 - April 3, 2007
Cristina Alvarez Magliano
Stories of Love and Passion
Alvarez Magliano is a highly regarded artist today working with the exclusive technique of marquetry in a figurative, yet free style. If not limited to the body form exclusively, the human female is the central motif in virtually the entire body of work. The figures are often represented in intense colors, surrounded by imagery related to stories of love & passion. Click here to read Thelma Ruck Keene's exhibition review.

APRIL

April 6 - May 2, 2007
April Fools!
“The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year.” – Mark Twain
April Fools! presents an odd menagerie of 30 characters – they are a parade of life’s clowns, jesters, buffoons, puppets, outcasts & artists. Everyday materials are used to create whimsical creatures characterized by their humour and the variety & unconventionality of their media.

MAY

May 4 - June 5, 2007
Gillian McMillan
RARA AVIS (L. = rare bird)
For the last few years Gillian has been concentrating on making jugbirds. They are wheelthrown with red earthenware clay and painted with brightly coloured slips and terra sigillata and clear-glazed. Some in this show will be soda-fired stoneware. All are intended to be used for pouring but owners may well see them as household supervisors!

JUNE

June 8 - July 3, 2007
Jo Ludwig
Things of Beauty
Jo Ludwig uses art glass, in combination with dichroic glass, to make glittering little jewel-like bowls. Why bowls? Because the bowl-shape is intimately familiar, formally simple, aesthetically pleasing and, in miniature, completely non-threatening.

JULY

July 6 - 31, 2007
Rachelle Chinnery
Aquae
Kayaking on the Pacific has had a profound effect on my ceramic practice. Ocean forms on shorelines have become the central theme of my aesthetic, and I make what I make to feel at peace - like I do when I sit at the edge of the ocean.

AUGUST

August 3 - September 4, 2007
Sean Goddard
Insects and Other Oddities
With no formal education in the media of glass and metal Sean set out to make a genre of his own. It was with this creative force and bold inspiration that the lines of jagged light sconces and prehistoric insects were fashioned. This exhibit will feature insects and other oddities - a collection of sculptural pieces using copper, brass and glass.

Yvonne Wakabayashi & Lesley Richmond

NOVEMBER

November 2 - December 4, 2007
Alice Philips
Saturated Boogie
hand felted wool
