MARCH

March 6 - March 31, 2009
Mikel Lefler
Resinology
An avid interest and training in both science and art has driven me to create beautifully crafted sterling silver and resin jewellery. Most of the work will contain insects in whole or in part but some will be strictly in resin and pigment alone. I will be displaying all types of jewellery: pendants, earrings, rings, bracelets, brooches and cufflinks as well as a few other more sculptural pieces.

JULY

July 3 - August 4, 2009
Linda Doherty & Lynnette Gullackson
Earth & Pine
Opening Reception Thursday, July 2 from 6 - 8pm
This exhibition is an expression of the conncetion of two sisters, living at opposite ends of the province. The collaboration of work in clay and pine needle basketry symbolizes that connection and the interdependency of the pine trees and earth and man.

This two person show combines similar aesthetics and design philosophies, in addition to a high regard for good craftsmanship. Nature is a major influence in both artists work and this exhibition combines their common interests using textiles and jewellery.

Isn't Art a Function?
Opening Reception: Thursday, September 3 from 6pm - 8pm
This exhibition features a mix of one of a kind items as well as functional pieces; bowls, pepper mills and vases. We hope to blur the line a little between "functional" and "artistic" objects and to display a range of surfaces from highly polished to rough and textured.

Christmas Market Preview

This exhibition highlights a selection of exhibitors participating in the Circle Craft Christmas Market at the Vancouver Exhibition and Convention Centre Nov. 11 - 15, 2009. Work included covers a wide range of media, and provides an opportunity for a sneak preview before the show.

NOVEMBER

November 6 - December 1, 2009
Elaine Brewer-White
Light-Headed
Opening Reception Thursday, November 5 from 6pm - 8pm
For this new series of works, titled “Light-Headed,” Brewer-White engages the concept of blending art and utility—namely, art as light source. “In this age of recession and belt-tightening, I wanted to reflect on ways I could present art that serves a purpose as well as an aesthetic. The idea of creating torsos with lights for heads made me laugh—and got me so excited I’ve been in my studio 24/7!” says Brewer-White.
