Jenny Hildebrand

Jenny Hildebrand is a feltwear designer and fibre artist working primarily in wool and silk.  A self-taught artist, designer and maker, she combines the ancient processes of hand felting with modern techniques to create luxurious contemporary products.

Jenny was born in Vancouver in 1959 and raised in the lower mainland.  She currently lives and works in a home studio in Victoria BC.   Her work is influenced by the natural beauty of the Saanich Peninsula.  It was here, on two hobby farms, that she raised two children with her husband of 35 years.  While she worked in property development for several years she never considered her fibre and textile art as mere hobbies, but as an integral part of her creative life, and natural extension of her farm labours.

Besides showing her work at Circle Craft, she is represented by galleries and museums including Abkhazi Garden, Butchart Gardens, the Royal BC Museum and the Coast Collective Art Centre in Victoria, BC.
