Kinichi Shigeno

Kinichi was born in Japan in 1953. He attended the Ceramics Training School in Seto , Japan where he majored in ceramic design. After graduation he apprenticed for 7 years with a master potter.

Since establishing his own studio many years ago, he has developed the versatility and craftsmanship to work in both functional ware and sculptural. Both branches of ceramics have brought him to the attention of many collectors. Kinichi has participated in numerous exhibitions and won many awards for his work. In 1991, his table setting design for the Lieutenant Governor's residence in Victoria, BC won the Grand Prize, which he was commissioned to produce.
