ABOUT
I graduated from university with a BS in Art Education from State University of New York. As well as getting that degree in education, the school had a wonderful ceramic department where I got a good solid grounding in ceramics. Shortly afterwards I emigrated to the BC Rocky Mountains and lived the dream with my then partner..building log cabins, studios and farming. After 15 wonderful years I moved down to the Coast and set up my pottery, studio, and did a bit of teaching. Studying at a Zen monastery in Japan , making pots in the pottery there, has also greatly effected my work.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I use all my long, varied history and interests to pack into my pots of today. Living on the West Coast in a cedar forest, having studied pottery and meditation in Japan, as well as living in the wilderness being self-sufficient and tuned in to the natural beauty of it all, is the foundation for making my pots.
