I am a textile artist who uses the nuno felt-making technique to create unique wearable art.
My designs are inspired by my love for nature. I evolved my dyeing technique from my training as a watercolour painter. I graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Designn as an illustrator/painter in 1982. I learned how to felt in 1986 after returning from a trip to the U.S.S.R. where I saw felted yurts and carpets.
My lifestyle on Salt Spring Island where I live, feeds my creative process. The open lattice work design at the bottom of the scarves and shawls can be used in unique ways for a sculptural wrap look that allows one end to be pulled through the openings of the other end.
