Masako Hori was born in Kamloops, BC and was educated in Japan where she earned diplomas in Fashion Design, Tailoring, Drafting and Clothing Construction, but the focus of her education has been on pottery, and she has been working with clay and she has been working with clay and glazes witn 1973.
She completed her visual arts education in BC at Doublas College, as well as numerous workshops in ceramics; she also went on a working tour of Japan, where she worked with a japanese pottery master.
Masako uses clay thrown on a wheel, which she glazes and fires. She teaches Japanese brushwork in Vancouver and fives seminars, demonstrations and workshops on various topics related to her educational and training background.
Masako's work has been shown across Canada and throughout BC and the Lower Mainland.
