Hélène Bourget is of French Canadian descent and was born in Germany. She began her career as a gold and silversmith at Vancouver Community College where she spent two years, followed by 3 years spent in an apprenticeship with Bustopher Goldsmiths. I think of it as sculpture or architecture on a small scale; I try never to make anything identical, I think it gives each piece a personality.
