Matsuji (Matt) Kajiwara was born in Tokyo, Japan and immegrated to Canada in 1966. He worked as an Architectural Technician prior to retiring in 2005.
"I do not have any specific education and creer in the arts, but always self=learning and self=studying on the wood carvings and other arts.
I carve the masks with basic ideas and images are taken from the Japanese Noh Arts. However, the work shown are made to look like the Noh Masks, but they are modified and created by my own imaginations. "
