 Vincent Van Dough
From 1986 to 2003, I worked in doughcraft but then began to research alternate materials and finally settled on an unusual type of resin with a feel like dough. I spend a lot of time sculpting an original, then make a silicone mold. Pieces are cast individually and then hand painted with great care. I am always working on new ideas and designs.

clay

Crazy Duck Pottery
I enjoy challenging spatial limitations when working with clay. My large garden vessels and water features allow me to work with very large amounts of clay and to fire in large woodfired kilns, which is my passion. I also am fascinated with architectural detail. My garden lanterns and other garden adornments allow me to experiment with architectural design while creating strong focal points for home and garden.

Kathryn Youngs
I have incorporated the concerns of a painter and sculptor with those of a potter, concentrating on form, brushwork, colour, construction, and a cross-cultural examination of decoration. I use slab-constructed earthenware clay, painted with clear-glazed coloured slips. My pots have a "function" that is akin to theatre props - they convey the idea of a vase but their "role" relates to movement, art heroes, and colour.

The nature of "Fibre Arts" or "Textile Arts" is steeped in traditions, process and technique. It can be as fundamental as constructing the cloth, or as detailed as the embellishment. It was the amalgamation of all these processes that ultimately led me to discover felt making.

Di-fusions
Fused glass...full of surprises, challenges and rewards!  A teacher turned stained glass retail store owner, Diane studied at Pilchuck Glass School on several occasions and first began fusing there in 1979.  Now she fuses from her studio in the rural Fraser Valley...taking much delight in creating pieces for others to enjoy.

Glass Act
I am intrigued with the design possibilities of stained glass. I love physically to cut and fit and solder together this relatively flat material, to achieve innovative colour harmonies and to form three-dimensional objects that are both functional and beautiful. As an artisan, my award-winning lampshades are particularly satisfying.

Illuminati Glassworks
Dan Bergeron is a self-taught stained glass artist from Gabriola Island. His work with stained glass began a few years ago and has
expanded to include sandblasting and most recently, fused glass. Dan draws a lot of inspiration from Medieval art. Once he's chosen an image, he reworks it with strong lines and bright, bold colours and though the symbol itself has been around for centuries, he's reinvented it and made it new again.

Prelude Glass Studio
Glass as an art medium has continued to fascinate us since being introduced to this art form in 1985. Glass is an ever changing medium as the smallest alteration in light creates a dynamic change in the way our glass art will be perceived. Our first focus was stained glass followed shortly after by glass mosaic and then kiln-formed glass. We use classical techniques combined with modern methods and tools. As we continue to experiment with new techniques our work continues to evolve.

I’m offering a large selection of rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and more – everything created by hand and hand engraved. Through my website, www.celticjewellerystore.com, I have found a worldwide audience.

Bijoux du Monde
My craft involves three different media: real insects, resin and sterling silver. I embed a variety of insects including butterflies, ladybugs, beetles and spiders in clear and coloured resin. I hand sand each finished piece of resin and design and hand fabricate sterling silver settings for each one creating something truly unique.

Murat Senemoglu
As an art historian I travelled many times to Venice to do extensive research on glass pendants which originates from ancient Mediterranean glassware. The pendant owes its particular beauty to a very complicated and skillful handmade process. In my own work I have been applying these techniques with my silverworks.

Naomi Levitin Jewellery
Naomi Levitin’s work has been influenced by the diverse artistic cultures of her native Israel, including those of the Middle East and North Africa. Casting is now her primary means of achieving an inventory of shapes. This process allows exploration of diverse organic, three dimensional forms as well as repetition of interlocking links. The application of a patina (surface oxidation) finish serves to highlight the textured surfaces that have been stamped and hammered.

Susan Wood Designs
Jewellery design is an art that I am truly passionate about. My jewellery designs incorporate high quality semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and precious metals. Each creation is inspired by the amazing colors and textures of the natural gemstones that I love to work with. It is through the careful selection and the artful combination of these materials that my unique designs are created.

Suzanne Nairne
Contemporary jewellery inspired primarily by the consideration / juxtaposition of achitectural forms and those of the natural world.  I work in sterling and fine silver, gold, some copper and brass, elements of nature, paper, resin, alternate materials. Fabrication techniques of mine include laminating, fold forming, hollow construction; also, casting allows me to work to create variations / additions to a base form. I work on different (theme / technique) series of jewellery pieces which are described as distinctive, dramatic, personal.

Veronica Stewart Designs
My jewellery is a fusion of two techniques: crocheted and knitted fine wire combined with Precious Metal Clay. From these, I create unique designs that I embellish with gemstones. This work feels like a natural progression from my earlier career in ceramics but on a smaller, more intricate scale.

leather

Doug Gibson
I work in Western carving leather – sculpture – study bias is mask making. Leather is boiled to clay like consistency, molded, sculpted and carved. The final result is 3D work – a mix of painting and sculpture. "In a world of constant imagery, artwork has to knock hard, life is deaf!"

Christy Mitchell Fine Art
I use the monotype process to create my original artwork. This method requires the artist to work "backwards" as the paint on the glass is revealed onto the opposite side in the finished artwork. It takes an adventurous spirit because first the images are painted onto a piece of glass, then I lay paper over the oil paint and rub the back of the paper. As the paper is peeled back, you discover how the image has transferred and it is exciting to see the textures and depth of each stroke of paint. The resulting paintings are built up layer-by-layer and have an impressionist finish that is very intriguing.

Scrimshaw by David Goldsmith and Sculptures In Pewter
Scrimshaw that is over 10,000 years old has been found in caves in France. Today I use recycled piano keys and ancient mammoth tusk from the Yukon goldfields. Scenes are etched into the surface, colour is applied and the finished piece is framed. We also cast pewter reproductions of some scrimshaw.

Bôites de la Paix

Our materials are now very hard to find…another year, mostly 2 and this creation will be over. Why? The boxes are authentic, wooden ammunition boxes from the Vietnam War era. We transform them into environmentally friendly (millions of them have been discarded in Canada and US) and symbolic peace item…"Peace Boxes". History, contemporary, creation, poetry.

Ironwood Bowls
Ironwood Bowls are made using a unique cutting method which was first done in the 1800’s when wooden bowls were in great demand. Four sizes are cut from a single block of wood, producing a "family" of bowls with similar characteristics.  Lori MacDonald is carrying on her father’s dream to conserve the forests and appreciate the natural beauty held within each tree.

Morin Tardif
Nathalie Morin and Serge Tardif work as wood artist since 1990. We use lamination and molding to shape slices of North American species into functional art. Given a non-toxic finish, each pieces have that soft and natural feeling. We seek the expression of serenity through fluid lines, whether to toss salad or contain CDs.

Peace of Mind Creations
Adrianna is a mixed media collage artist. "I make handmade paper for a canvas and use found materials, fiber and natural materials to create scenes. I occasionally use sculpting clay and add it to a scene or collaborate with Dave to create 3 dimensional scenes. Dave makes wood sculptures, specializing in facial imagery sculpted from burls, knots and found wood.  Both artists work are pictured at left.

Mark Wilkinson’s one of a kind whimsical watercraft are created using only the finest in reclaimed and recycled materials. Old red cedar fence posts for the hulls, bike tires, plumbing pipe, fan belts, and umbrella parts all make finely weathered additions to these "been to sea" works.
