“Some basic woodworking tools, a good sense of colour and some humour should come together to create a carving. I think I have made a good piece when people stop, look and smile. Talking to friends, we came up with phrases related to the word, ‘heart’. The idea was born for a new series of painted wood carvings. The result should be a bridge between traditional folk art and the present.”
