Lisa further explores the crazy world of the “Aussie roll-up” technique that has infiltrated the North American glass scene of late. The process is called the Aussie roll-up because it was taken on and perfected by Australian artists Scott Chaseling, Klaus Moje and Giles Bettison among others.

It’s a very time-consuming and involved way to make a piece of glass but the effects are totally worth the effort. Combining the demanding disciplines of fused flat glass and off hand glassblowing Lisa has created a gorgeous body of work that bespeaks her love of pattern and colour and her fascination with repeated design elements evident in such diverse manifestations as Middle Eastern textiles and the wings of butterflies.
