Circle Craft Selections Process to become a Member
At this time, The Circle Craft Selections Committee is accepting photographic submissions.
The next jury will be be held in the Fall of 2008.
A volunteer Selections Committee considers submissions from British Columbia Craftspeople who are interested in marketing their work through the Circle Craft Shop & Gallery on Granville Island. This Committee is comprised of Circle Craft Board members, Circle Craft Members, and individuals from the community who have an interest or professional association with craft. Due to the increased number of inquiries regarding sale of work at Circle Craft and becoming a member of the Co-op, the Committee has restructured the existing process for accepting submissions and ultimately, work.
Interested individuals are now asked to submit six photographs (photo prints) of their work to the Selections Committee. The Committee will then meet to discuss the photo submissions and if an individual’s work is considered to be appropriate and of interest, the Selections Committee will then require six actual samples of the work to be submitted for further deliberation before a final decision is made. There is no cost to submit photos. However if you are asked to submit actual pieces the established Selections Fee of $25.00 plus GST will apply. No critiques are given.
Photographs or photo prints should be of a quality that best represents the work. Please, no slides or discs. If the photographs are to be returned, a stamped, self addressed envelope must be provided by the submitting craftsperson.
Submissions of photographs should be accompanied by:
craftsperson’s CV
artist statement
specific information about the work
self addressed stamped envelope for return of photographs
The photos and information should be mailed or otherwise delivered to:
